Victorian Tourism Award

William Angliss Institute of Tafe Diploma of Resort Management received a Merit Award in the category of Tourism Education & Training in a glittering ceremony held at Crown Entertainment Centre on 21 st November.

The award was presented by the Minister for Tourism and Major Projects, Hon John Pandazopoulos to Resorts Program Manager Ian Drayton.

Tourism Minister John Pandazopoulos congratulated the Diploma of Resort Management for its achievement.

"The awards process is not an easy one, nor is it meant to be," Mr Pandazopoulos said, "The award recognize people striving for excellence- it's not about being first past the post".

The prestigious Awards salute the tourism industry's leading operators, businesses and individuals. They reinforce the enormous value of tourism to the community, highlight the great experiences on offer across Victoria and recognizing the hard work of tourism operators who go that extra step to provide their guests with a quality experience.

The Resorts program won this category in 2003 and 2004. Receiving a Merit Award this year caps off three outstanding years of development and growth in the Dive, Spa and Marine Resort Management programs.
